Like winds and sunsets, wild things were taken for granted until progress began to do away with them. Now we face the question whether a still higher ‘standard of living’ is worth its cost in things natural, wild and free.

My name is David Mick, I’m a landscape and nature photographer based in Southwest Montana. This collection of images was made across the remote landscapes of the western states and provinces of North America.

I created Cascade Image Works to share my experiences of the natural world and to inspire a personal connection to it’s last remaining wild places. In my work I strive to capture the wilderness character of these hard to reach locations with the hope that through sharing these images, others may be called to protect these special places.

Archival quality paper and metal prints of all images are available for purchase. Please use the form below to inquire regarding print formats and prices.
